Training October 26th-28th
As part of our office’s efforts to improve the criminal justice response to domestic violence and related cases, we are working to provide comprehensive training to law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judicial personnel who regularly interact with victims and survivors of trauma.
Training Date: October 26th-28th, 2026 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
Expected Audience: Law enforcement officers serving the Fort Peck community (Tribal, City, Roosevelt and Valley County) and, as appropriate, prosecutors and judicial personnel
Location: 605 Indian Ave, Poplar MT 59255 Greet the Dawn Auditorium
Signs up begin at 8:00 AM. The training will be mirrored so that those who cannot attend in the morning can attend in the afternoon (or vise versa) and receive the same training content.
Trainers
Bethany Black: Specializing in domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. Expertise in forensic interviewing, victim advocacy, and trauma-informed practices.
Charlie Knowlton PhD: Dr. Knowlton specializes in trauma and substance use, & has a passion for helping underserved communities and finding ways to adapt Westernized evidence-based practice in ways that are culturally meaningful to meet the unique needs of tribal communities.
A lunch will be provided, in addition to morning and afternoon snacks & refreshments.
